Get Fit with Freya 2017

This January 2017 we are celebrating being fit and healthy and together with Freya Active's new range we can stay fit and healthy for the future. A sports bra is an important piece of your sports kit and we believe a well fitting sports bra provides the same benefits as your running shoes.

The concept of any sports bra is to reduce pain and improve your performance. Wearing the right bra takes pressure of the supporting muscles and aids your breathing and lung capacity. You can go further and faster for longer. Our regular bras are not built for exercising and can fall apart under pressure. With heavy perspiration and stress, the bra's elasticity can break down and your pretty bras will not support you anymore.

Sports Bras and Activewear is a huge trend at this time and we should embrace it. Not only are they super comfortable but they are fashionable and can make you feel energised just by wearing them.

My Exercise Routine

I have found this great workout App on my IPad that is perfect for me to do at home! In these cold winter months, the last thing I feel like doing is travelling to the gym or running in the dark but with SWORKIT I can exercise in my living room (as long as there is enough space!). The App is very simple to use, all you need to do is choose a workout you would like to do and select how many minutes you want to do it for then press 'Begin Workout'. Images will appear on the screen to show you the routine you need to follow. At the end of each workout you will get told how many calories you burned.

You can focus on Stretching, Cardio, Strength or Yoga and within these categories there a different workout types such as Core Strength, Full Intensity Cardio and Everyday Feel Good Yoga.

If you create an account you can use their personal trainer to help you. Everyday I get a reminder from SWORKIT to encourage me to workout! Cheeky right?! It's free to download but for Premium workouts you can pay monthly or yearly.

This App has made me enjoy working out especially in the winter, so I would recommend this to anyone who is fairly new to exercising. You can learn the workouts at your own speed and pick up new stretches and exercises that can help you in the future.

We found a great article written by Rose George from The Guardian. The title is straight to the point "Running Bras: Ladies, get a better one." and highlights the key elements why we should all wear sports bras when we exercise.

Check it out here >

We also have a handy Sports Bra Test where you can find out if a sports bra you have purchased fits you correctly.

So don't worry ladies, we have you sorted! This January you can exercise and feel fabulous at the same time!
